6/13/16 Elder Stomps and I went today to a store here called Intersport (kind of like REI), and we checked out all of the sweet camping stuff!
Well, so far I'm enjoying having a senior companion again, since he can help me with things. We have really enjoyed reminising about food, like Vla and Boederkook.
In the area, its small, smaller than any of my previous areas, but it takes a super long time to get to the other side of the area, to a town called Heidenheim. We just had a family move into the ward from Ogden, who will be moving back in 2 months and they live there. We go there sometimes, usually once a week. We have a few investigators, one girl, has a baptismal date for august, which is super exciting!
I'm working hard to memorize all of the names, for instance, a member just walked into the room, Bru. N. In my other wards I didn't learn the names until later!
6/20/16
Monday - Weather was bad, so no hike (usually we hike) but we did spend some time shoppping at Müller, a department store. Then we went to the Z's house afterward with an investigator tagging along. We had a great time, I loved talking about some nerdy stuff with their oldest son J.
Tuesday - We normally had district meeting on tuesday, but we had zone training on wednesday instead, so this week we went finding for a couple of hours, dooring in Geislingen, streeting here in Göppingen, and we went by on a potential in Geislingen. We had an appointment, but it fell out.
Wednesday - Zone training! Normally wednesday is pretty empty, so switch wednesday and tuesday. It was totally awesome, we talked about having the BIrthright in israel, and president made a fake family to demonstrate. I was the dad that died, and the oldest son got a double portion of the inheritance to take care of my estate. Then Elder Chilcutt, the baby from my family, got to be Jacob (Israel) and Pres. Kohler spelled out the family from Leah, Rueben, and so forth to ephraim and Manassa. I got to be Ephraim this time. It was really fun, and really helped to drive the point home, how we are so blessed with a double portion, but we are expected to take care of the kingdom, AKA, missionary work, and gathering the Elect. Way cool!
Thursday - We went to a city on the other side of the area. We usually go there on thirsday to meet with some investigators and find, but it takes like 2 hours to get there! I talked to this great american from Colorado on one of the trains there, and also managed to get 8 chapters done in the german BOM, when I wasn't sleeping (hard to stay awake, I'm sure you know!). We then had in the evening an appintment with some members (the H's) from ogden who are here for two months. They made great mexican food, and delicious brownies. We are looking forward to go by again this week!
Friday - Lunch appointment with W fam. They are way awesome, and I got to use one of my favorite spiritual thoughts, maybe I'll compile a list of those so you can enjoy them! Then we had an appointment with the A family. in the late afternoon, and were finding in the inbetween times.
Saturday - Saturday was great, I#m trying to remember what we did in the morning and early afternoon, but I know in the evening we went to an older sister's house, sister H, with the branch president, Pres. F. We used another great spiritual thought. Yah, I'll make a list.
Sunday - Church (shortened schedule here, just sacrament and priesthood), but afterward was a ward meal! Evferyone brought something cool, and we loved it all! I especially loved the Milchreis. We made Boederkook, after the recipie you gave me. Elder Stomps says its just like it should be, so be proud, that and it was the hit of the ward!
And today we did hike! Tons of fun up in Göppingen!
