There were two big things I got out of Sunday. I've started to mouth the English translation to what I hear so that I can do a better job when they actually ask me to translate, and it helps me to better understand and internalize, and to stay awake. Those two were "Repentance is a personal experience, repentance is VERY central to the plan of our Heavenly Father" and "Learn to get out of the way of the spirit." The first one was a direct quote from the speaker, and the second was just the feeling I got from the talks. In addition, one from Stake Conference that I really enjoyed was "what am I packing in my rucksack today?" He talked about hiking with his dad, and how he just brought a few things because it was a short hike, but his dad was completely prepared with a large backpack with everything that his son had forgotten. The parallel is "what am I packing with me today?" Do I have the spiritual preparation that I need? The knowledge, the diligence? Everything. I really liked that one, however, a couple of the choir members who were missionaries (I was sitting in the second row in the chapel during stake conference) got confused and had to ask me later what I was mouthing during the conference. I laughed at that!
We are still missionarying. The German verb is actually "missionieren" and we have actually been doing quite a bit of tracting this week. You know, door to door, and we've actually had a surprising number of people interested!
