Elder Sorensen and I were talking to people on the street and we were heading back home to eat dinner and go to bed. We were just leaving the Innenstadt (city center) of Schwenningen, and a lady was walking into the innenstadt. Elder Sorensen said hello, and said "Excuse me, can I ask a question?" and she started to say (Like people usually do) "Kein..." but before she could finish, I finished it for her (she was next to us at this point) "Zeit (time)?" She laughed, and said that she actually had a little bit of time, but she wasn't interested. We exchanged a couple of words, and I think that elder Sorensen asked what she had heard about the church. She said that she actually knew a bit about the church already, and she actually had a co-worker that she knew was LDS. We knew that man, and we got her to promise to say hello to him, and finally as she started to walk away, Elder Sorensen asked her a simple question, "Do you love Jesus?" She said "Yes, but..." and Elder Sorensen finished off with "OK, here is a great video about Christ" hands her a "Weil Er Lebt" (Because He Lives) card, "I'm sure you will love it too." It was just such a great experience where we managed to have a nice conversation with someone and bring someone an opportunity to come closer to Christ.
Elder Sorensen is really fun, he loves quoting movies, minions from Despicable Me, and he loves the branch. We are actually not doing as much service, but we are planning on visiting the members and practicing the lessons with them. We are really focusing on our members now in the whole mission, and we hope to really help them here!
So, what are y'all planning for this week? I think we will have a lesson with AH on Thursday, so we have to find a joint teach for that, and we have district meeting on Tuesday. We have two less active appointments on Wednesday, and we are working on going through the list of members that are willing to practice with us. We will be cutting up some old Christmas trees at some point, but I don't know exactly when.
UPDATE: "Why is the Book of Mormon important to you?" Personally for me, the Book of Mormon is the most important thing that has happened in the last 2000 years, for obvious reasons. It contains the words of Christ, words we never had heard before, it teaches doctrines that we had totally lost from the church. It is The Book to read when you need comfort in your life. The missionary answer is very important to me as well, The Book of Mormon allows us to become unshakable in our testimonies, or at least to get on that path, and pray to God, and you can know it is true.
