On Tuesday we had an Austausch (exchange) and I went to Singen. Afterward, on wednesday, we missed our train to get to Villingen to tausch back and elder holm drove down to get us. After we switched back, and elder Holm and I were on our way back, we had to go back and give them back their train ticket, and then we noticed that we were almost out of gas. We can only fill up at shell stations with the gas card, so we looked for one on the GPS and didn't find anything. The closest one was 10 km away in Schaffhausen, the wrong direction. We started toward one that was farther away, but kind of in the right direction. We kept getting stressed because we were going to miss an appointment and run out of gas, and eventually the gps just spazzed out and added 20 minutes to the time, giving us only 10 minutes afterward to get to our appointment. Elder Holm got pretty stressed (he was driving) and decided not to follow the GPS and just find another gas station on our own and pay for it with personal money, and I started praying and praying and praying. Miraculously, I heard him praising the Lord, and I opened my eyes to a Shell station exactly next to us! Even more remarkable was that we had exactly enough time to get back for the appointment!
It was totally remarkable because not only were we (or we thought we were) too far away to make it back already, but there was not supposed to be any sort of gas station whatsoever for 20 km or so, let alone a shell station! Not only that but the fact that we happened to chance upon it right at the perfect time, it was really a miracle!
That is just one miracle that has blessed my life this week. I hope that you see miracles in your life as well back in the Salt Lake valley (Did you know that we are almost in Millcreek!?)
Love, Elder Lingen
Concerning the pictures of the elders on Aug. 10th, 2015:
"That was our district. Elder Manske and Elder Dzierdzone were in Schaffhausen (Elder Dzierzone was the district leader) and we would meet there for district meeting. Elders Brady and Tholen were in Bad-Säckingen, and they were also in our district. Elder Manske and Elder brady got transferred away, and schwenningen switched to be in a district with Singen, so those were our last pictures after district meeting."
