I've also been thinking about that talk from General Conference about qualifying for blessings in your patriarchal blessing. Right now I've all of a sudden got the desire to be an instrument maker, and use my materials science in that field. I don't really know if those two sentences are related, but they're both about cool things! I have studied my blessing more on my mission, and seen it in action in more ways than I remember before my mission. That is certainly cool. I feel like maybe that reason alone would make a mission worthwhile, and there are plenty of other reasons to go around, like spiritual growth, learning so much, becoming more like Christ, bringing the gospel to people, and bringing the joy that comes with it! Its pretty great.
Elder Lingen's response:
Thank you for thinking of me about Gemini. It had occurred to me that she might die before I came back, and I kind of came to grips with it, but it was a little shocking. I got the email right before district meeting, which we were early to, which meant that I could spend some time playing the piano and thinking about it. I also didn't have to go through the experience of actually loosing her, seeing as I was already away from her.
