Home seems more or less the same, still busy, and still great. I of course would like to be there, but I would at the moment rather be here. I said to my companion this week: "You know, I'm the only one in my family who will be home for Christmas this year!" meaning, that Germany seems like the home of Christmas, and I'm pretty sure that everyone there would love to trade places with me. Did I tell you we have a big bag of Pfeffernüsse I have been eating these last two weeks?
We've started this week calling a less active member every night to remind him about his BOM reading. Except for the second night, when we accidentally both called him, and confused him, it's been great! We've been able to see the difference in him within only a week of consistent scripture reading! He even mentioned it himself yesterday when I called him. I've got to do a better job of writing in my journal though, I'm sure there are so many cool experiences that I've seen that I just can't remember on the spot!
I'm really excited about a lot of the things we are doing right now, we are making better relationships with the ward all of the time, and we just got another investigator to church yesterday. He just showed up with another family from his building. There are actually two LDS families in his building, making it a half-LDS building! He and his brother have met with us before, his brother is dating a less active member who doesn't speak German, just Portuguese. His brother, though, is too scientifically minded, and doesn't realize what the gospel is, and just thinks the ideas about aliens explains everything. Our investigator is also doing well, she came to church again yesterday, and is making friendships and helped us to teach the restoration yesterday!
This week I've noticed the spirit more than I ever have before. I have gotten better at noticing his influence, and feeling the power that he confirms truth with for us. I am really starting to notice too, how much I grow when he lets me make the decisions.
This week I've been thankful for that what I said above, the spirit of the Lord. I am also thankful for my companion, this area, the mission presidency, the branch, and the German language. I just am starting to see how the Lord has blessed us. We always have enough to eat, and a warm apartment, and the word of God.
